I am going away to Brazil for 4 months from March 16th to do missionary work. This is a gap year between college and university and i wanted to do something exciting and worth while.
Since i went to the interview day and was acccepted, I have been trying to raise the funds for my latin link trip. The total i needed to raise was £2950 for the initial trip costs excluding travel insurance, medical expenses and equipment. People have given generously towards it from friends and family and we organised a fundraising event only last night. The event went really well and we had over 100 people come to it. We served up Chilli con carne, had a live band and also had salsa dancing. We raised a good amount towards the fund and i am now a lot closer to the target amount. Thank you to everyone who has given me money and has backed me for the trip.

After the event, I hope to get the remaining amount over the next few months. Now i
know it is really happening, I am really looking forward to it.
